Not Everyone Is Suitable for Contact Lenses

Contact lenses, from the myopic patients' point of view, are playing very important roles in their daily life. They have several advantages which cannot be ignored, such as convenience and beauty. However, it needs to be noteworthy that not all of people are suitable for wearing contact lenses. On one hand, patients have to go through professional examination by physicians before choosing glasses, in order to see whether their own eye condition is fit or not. If they prematurely or in a long term, put on contact lenses, it is prone to bring about corneal hypoxia and physical side effects, such as metabolic disorder. Meanwhile, if the curved path of lenses is incompatible with the cornea, it will not only result in corneal abrasion, but also cause corneal ulceration or perforation as a consequence.

7. Beyond 40 years of age, people should gradually say goodbye to contact lenses as well, because eye tissues, at this time, are more likely to generate obvious degenerative changes and cause eye resistance to decline, especially the reduction of eye's ability to withstand hypoxia. Therefore, people within 40 years old to 60 can sometimes wear contact lenses for a short term, but for those over 60, it is best not to put on them anymore.

All in all, in spite of their convenience and beauty, whether to choose contact lenses still depends on many factors, such as age, environment and personal quality, etc. Thus, not everyone is fit for wearing contact lenses.
